Flowering from June to July, this early large-flowered variety bears single, purple-blue flowers with creamy yellow anthers, followed by attractive golden seed heads that add interest well into autumn. Robust yet relatively compact, Thompson and Morgan Clematis Fujimusume is a spectacular variety that is ideal for growing against walls and fences or planted in a large patio container. Choose a position in sun or semi-shade when growing Thompson and Morgan Clematis Fujimusume and plant the climber deeply in moist, fertile, well-drained soil, positioning the root ball at a depth of 7.5cm below soil level, in order to encourage new shoots to form from the base of the plant. Clematis dislike soils that are particularly wet or dry; however, these conditions can be improved with the addition of plenty of well-rotted manure or garden compost.
