- Easy-care, ideal for beginners
- Attractive variegated arching leaves
- Produces baby plants on hanging stems
Perfect for beginners! The Spider plant is one of the most commonly found house plants, not least because it is so easy to grow. The brightly variegated, strap-like foliage arches beautifully to create a lovely tumbling effect. As it grows, Chlorophytum comosum 'Variegatum' produces long, cascading stems with new baby plants at their tips, which dangle beneath the parent plant. With maturity, upward-facing stems of white star-shaped flowers are also produced. Perfect for a hanging basket or shelf where its stems can hang freely. Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you. Chlorophytum enjoys a brightly lit spot away from direct sunlight. Avoid the full glare of the sun, as this may bleach or scorch the foliage. Spider plants can cope in cooler temperatures down to 7C (45F) but prefer a warmer position of around 15C (60F) to 24C (75F).
