- Vibrant colour and sweet flavour for versatile meals
- High-quality roots with a crunchy texture
- Pack contains approximately 300 seeds
Transform your garden with the Thompson and Morgan Carrot Norfolk Seeds. It is a maincrop variety that yields high-quality roots featuring vibrant colouration, sweet flavour, and a satisfying crunch. These cylindrical roots, with their blunted ends, are easy to cut into uniform circles or thick sticks. Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, this versatile vegetable can enhance any meal, whether steamed, boiled, roasted, mashed, or eaten raw. Known for its excellent resistance to cavity spot, early maturing varieties can be sown under cloches in March or outdoors from April to July. Maincrop varieties should be sown outdoors between April and June, while some forcing varieties can be sown under glass from November to February for an early crop. Carrot seeds should be sown directly outdoors in a sunny, weed-free location with fertile, light, and well-drained soil. Avoid freshly manured soil and prepare seed beds in autumn for best results. Sow seeds thinly at a depth of 1cm in drills spaced 30cm apart; expect germination in 10-20 days. Thin seedlings to 5cm apart once they are large enough to handle. For limited spaces, container gardening can also yield a worthwhile harvest. The pack contains approximately 300 seeds.
