Product Information

  • Pack contains 80 seeds
  • Mixed apricot, orange, primrose, cream blooms
  • Long flowering period creates lasting colour
Bring vibrant life to your garden with the Thompson and Morgan Calendula Art Shades Tape Mixed Seeds that fill beds and borders with spectacular frilled blooms in apricot, orange, primrose and cream shades, lasting from spring well into autumn and offering easy sowing for any gardener. Calendula 'Art Shades' grows up to 60cm tall with a spread of 20cm, thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and delivers 80 seeds on a convenient seed tape, making it simple to create pollinator-friendly spaces and enjoy cut flowers for arrangements. You'll receive clear growing and care instructions so you can nurture a colourful display, whether sowing outdoors or starting indoors for earlier blooms. Direct sow calendula seeds outdoors where they are to grow from April to May. Choose a position in full sun on well-drained soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Sow seeds thinly, at a depth of one centimetre in drills spaced 30cm apart and cover the seed with its own depth of soil to exclude light. Water the ground regularly, especially during dry periods. Germination usually takes five to ten days. When calendula seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them out to 30cm apart. Alternatively, sow indoors from March to April at a temperature of 18-23°C (65-73F). When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant and grow them on in cooler conditions until they are large enough to plant outdoors. For winter or early spring flowering, sow calendula in late summer or early autumn and grow plants on in a cool greenhouse or conservatory. Water regularly until plants are fully established. Deadhead faded calendula flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced and prevent them from self-seeding. Delivered with growing and care instructions.
