- Grows and spreads up to 4m when fully established
- Features curving grey-green leaves and stems
Buddleja alternifolia (Butterfly Bush) produces long, graceful spikes of grey-green stems and leaves, with clusters of Pale Lilac flowers from July to September. The flower heads are sweet-scented and attract masses of pollinating insects, such as Bees and Butterflies. This plant can be trained as a shrub or a small tree. These are ideal for sunny borders and wildlife areas. Buddleja likes to be grown in full sun or semi-shade, in moist, well-drained soil. If planting in pots or containers, best to use soil-based compost. Product Specifications: Position: Full Sun or Semi Shade. Height: Up to 4 metres when fully established. Spread: Up to 4 metres when fully established. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary the results. Image may be included for illustration of supply, but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
