Enjoy a rewarding kitchen garden experience by sowing the Thompson and Morgan Broad Bean Witkiem Seed Packet, known for its reliable yields of plump pods filled with big, tasty beans from early summer. You'll love how this white-seeded variety tolerates cold weather, making it perfect for early sowings as well as staggered planting right through spring. With easy-to-follow care instructions included, you can look forward to harvesting fresh beans to eat right away or freeze for later, and even try companion planting to help keep pests at bay. Direct sow broad bean seed under cloches in February, or without protection from March to April. For particularly early crops, some varieties of broad beans may also be sown outdoors under cloches from early autumn to late winter. Grow beans in full sun on rich, fertile, well-manured soil with protection from strong winds. Plant broad beans in double rows set 23cm apart and allowing at least 60cm between each double row. Sow broad beans at a depth of five centimetres and a distance of 23cm apart within each row and water well. Germination usually takes around ten days. Product specifications: Position: Full Sun. Height: Up to 100cm when fully established. Spread: Up to 45cm when fully established. Harvest period: June to August. Delivered with growing and care instructions.
