Product Information

  • Produces extra-large double blooms in apricot and orange shades
  • Non-stop flowering from July to October whatever the weather
  • Attracts pollinating insects and suits shade gardens brilliantly
Bursting with vibrant apricot and orange hues, the Thompson and Morgan Begonia Apricot Shades Tuber 20 Pack brings a dazzling spectacle to containers, window boxes or hanging baskets, filling your garden with cascading double blooms from July to October. You'll enjoy a broader spectrum of colour and more colour-edged picotees than ever, thanks to an improved blend that delivers non-stop flowering whatever the weather. With their trailing habit and large flowers reaching up to ten centimetres, these tubers create impressive displays, thriving in sunny or semi-shaded spots and lighting up even the shadiest corners. Easy to plant and care for, they'll reward you with a show-stopping flourish all summer and well into autumn. From February, start tuberous begonias off in well-drained, moist compost in a warm, frost-free position in bright light. When planting begonia tubers, position them just below the compost surface with the intended side facing upwards. In hanging baskets, the tubers can be planted at a 45-degree angle with their roots toward the centre, to encourage plants to cascade over the sides of the basket. When begonia plants are well grown, and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of seven to ten days, before planting them in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded position that is protected from strong winds. Feed and water begonia plants frequently throughout the growing season, taking care not to over-water, as this will cause new begonia flower buds to drop. Deadhead the single female begonia flowers to encourage more of the large male flowers to be produced.
