Witness the magic unfold with the Thompson and Morgan Beetroot Boldor Seeds. This exceptional beetroot variety boasts a wonderfully sweet taste, adding vibrant colour to any dish with its bright orange hue that remains intact even after cooking. With its eye-catching copper-skinned roots, this improved golden beet demonstrates remarkable vigour and uniformity. The young leaves are also edible, making them a superb addition to stir-fries or when steamed. To cultivate beetroot, directly sow the seeds outdoors from March to July in a sunny, weed-free location, using fertile, light, well-drained soil. Sow the seeds thinly in shallow drills at a depth of 3cm and spaced 30cm apart. Expect germination within 12 to 24 days. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them out to a spacing of 10cm within each row. During growth, ensure adequate watering to keep the soil moist and cool, which helps prevent premature seeding. Harvest can begin anytime from June to October when the roots reach a diameter of 3cm or more, and be sure to gather any remaining crops before the first frost. Beetroot can be stored until mid-spring in boxes filled with moist sand in a frost-free shed or garage. The pack contains approximately 250 seeds.
