- Bold and double blooms in vibrant colours
- Perfect for borders and containers
- Compact, colourful and low-maintenance
This stunning dwarf variety is perfect for use as edging or as front-of-border plants. With vibrant colours including yellows, pinks, oranges, and purples, they feature double blooms that resemble those of their cousin, ‘Madame Butterfly.’ While these flowers can be used as garnishes or dressings, they may sometimes have a bland or bitter taste. To grow snapdragon plants, start by potting them in free-draining compost. Cultivate them in frost-free conditions until they are large enough to be planted outside. To encourage bushier growth, pinch out the growing tips while the plants are still small. Once they have grown well, acclimatise the antirrhinum plants to outdoor conditions over seven to ten days. Plant them outdoors in fertile, free-draining soil located in a sheltered, sunny spot. Keep in mind that antirrhinums do not tolerate wet ground well, so improve heavy soil conditions by adding coarse grit or sharp sand before planting. Regularly feed and water the snapdragons until they are fully established. To encourage more blooms throughout the summer, deadhead faded snapdragon flowers frequently. Please note that the images provided are for guidance only, showing the expected results upon maturity. Different growing conditions may affect results. Additionally, images may vary due to seasonal changes (e.g., deciduous plants will lose leaves in colder months).
