Its petite proportions make it equally suited to container growing or herbaceous borders and, unlike other taller varieties, it isn’t as prone to flopping. Alstroemerias are fleshy-rooted perennials with along flowering season, blooming from spring to autumn each year. Perfect for cut flowers but leave some for the wildlife – the blooms are a magnet for pollinating insects.
