Alstroemeria ‘White Pink Blush’ has beautiful funnel shaped white flowers and a blushing pink petal design that also has the more traditional Alstroemeria dark streaks. The wonderful colour palette of the Alstroemeria fits well into flowering borders and shrubs. It also makes an attractive patio feature when planted in flowerpots. Being a smaller flower with a growing height and spread of 30cm (12”), this also makes hanging baskets and window boxes a suitable home as the plant is not prone to drooping. These Hardy Perennial plants make a rewarding gardening experience with a very long flowering season from spring to autumn - June throughout the summer to November. On top of the wonderfully long flowering season the Alstroemeria ‘White Pink Blush’ is also loved by pollinating insects. When all risk of frost has passed, plant Peruvian Lilies in a sunny or semi shaded position in fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Alternatively, plant Alstroemeria in patio containers in soil-based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Throughout the growing season, water Peruvian lilies regularly and feed container grown plants each month. When picking alstroemeria pluck the flowers rather than cutting as plucking stimulates the rhizome encourage further growth. In autumn, cut back the old Alstroemeria flower stems and apply a dry mulch of chipped bark or straw to the base of the plant to protect it from cold winter weather. Alstroemeria prefers to be left undisturbed but can be divided in autumn or spring if clumps become overcrowded. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes.
