Thompson and Morgan Alocasia Zebrina Plant Pot 17cm

Commonly known as the Elephant Ear Plant, this tender perennial makes a robust house plant. With exotic-looking pale cream and black tiger-striped stems, it makes an interesting feature for the home. From the Philippines, Alocasia Zebrina is a tropical-looking plant with waxy deep green leaves and white light-green veins, creating eye-catching texture and making an excellent focal point in the home. Alocasia require bright filtered light, well away from the scorch of direct sun. Choose a warm room with a constant temperature above 15C (59F), and position the plant away from central heating and draughty doorways. Water Alocasia regularly allowing the soil surface to dry out between each watering. Always allow the pot to drain properly afterwards. In winter, reduce watering to prevent the soil becoming soggy and waterlogged, as this will cause the plant to rot. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth. Alocasia appreciates a humid atmosphere - stand it on a tray filled with pebbles and water.
