Product Information

  • Striking deep blue flowers with purple stripes
  • Free flowering throughout summer
  • Blooms from June to August
Transform your garden with Thompson and Morgan Agapanthus Northern Star Plant. A stunning free flowering variety that forms masses of deep blue flowers, each with a purple stripe from June through to August. A perfect variety for the middle of borders with its height of 90cm. Plant in clumps for the best display, watching the blooms rise above sturdy stems. Also, a perfect variety for cut flowers for a stunning indoor display. Grow Agapanthus plants in rich, fertile, well-drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers, use a soil-based compost, such as John Innes No.3. Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container-grown plants can be moved to a frost-free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become overcrowded. Product Specifications: Hardy Perennial Position: cottage gardens, wildlife gardens, cut flower garden Height: 100cm (40 inches) Spread: 50cm (20 inches) Agapanthus 'Northern Star' is supplied as 1 x 3L Pot. Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary the results. Image may be included for illustration of supply, but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
