How to grow: Grow Agapanthus plants in rich, fertile, well-drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers, use a soil-based compost. When the first frost blackens the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn.
