- Produces blue flowers on upright stems
- Grows up to 45cm tall and spreads up to 50cm
- Features strap-like green clumps of leaves
Agapanthus Brilliant Blue lives up to its name thanks to its stunning blue flowers. The blooms appear above upright stems and strap-like green clumps of leaves and grow in dense groups for excellent ground cover. The foliage dies back in winter, returning in spring whilst steadily spreading further. Also, make an excellent cut flower. Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well-drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil-based compost, such as John Innes No.3. Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blackens the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container-grown plants can be moved to a frost-free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become overcrowded. Product Specifications: Position in: full sun or semi-shade.
