Product Information

  • Average 500 seeds
  • Hardy perennial
  • A vigorous garden mint with delicious fruity notes
Grow your own herbs on your window sill and garden with the Johnsons Mint Apple mint Seeds. Easy to grow, you can add them to jellies and sauces and make refreshing drinks. Add chopped apple mint leaves to salads and dips, or enjoy a glass of iced tea with mint. The decorative pinky-white flowers can be used as well. Indoor Sowing: March to June, in trays of seed compost. Cover the seeds lightly with fine compost, and firm gently. Cover the tray with glass, polythene or a propagator lid. Seedlings appear in 14-35 days. Remove the cover when seedlings appear. Thin as necessary and when large enough to acclimatise to outside conditions, then transplant to the final position, spacing 30cm apart. Harvest April to November, and pick the leaves as required. Outdoor sowing: May to June, in a well-prepared seed bed. Sow thinly, and cover lightly with fine soil. Thin as necessary and transplant to the final position, spacing 30cm apart. Harvest April to November, and pick the leaves as required. TIP: Transfer a plant to a pot on the windowsill in winter for easier picking. Contain invasive roots by growing in an old bottomless bucket or containers.
