How to Plant Coriander Seeds

If you’re planting your coriander seeds in a garden bed, use a garden fork to work compost into the soil for a boost of nutrients. If you’re planting in pots, use a quality potting mix. Sprinkle a few coriander seeds over the surface and cover with a thin layer of compost before watering. Keep your plants in moist soil, but don’t overdo it! You can start enjoying your coriander leaves when the plant is about 6 inches tall, full, and bushy. Use some scissors or secateurs to snip off the outer leaves as needed. To harvest coriander seeds, let the plant go to flower, which will then produce seeds. Once they turn brown, cut off the seed heads and leave them indoors to dry out completely before storing in an airtight jar for use in the kitchen.
