Ottoman Storage Stools

What is an ottoman storage stool?

An ottoman storage stool is a compact upholstered stool with a hinged or removable lid that opens to reveal storage inside. Unlike larger blanket boxes or ottoman storage benches, stools are designed to fit into smaller spaces without taking over the room, making them a great option for flats and smaller houses. They also pair well with a window seat for extra storage.

Inside, they're well suited to smaller items like blankets and throws, books and magazines, remotes, children's toys, accessories or anything else that tends to accumulate on surfaces. For bulkier items, an ottoman bed might be what you’re looking for.

Our ottoman storage stool range covers a wide range of options to suit different rooms and styles. Velvet finishes add some texture and warmth to a bedroom or living room, while linen-look fabrics keep things a little more relaxed. Faux leather is the most practical choice for high-traffic rooms as it's easy to wipe clean and hard-wearing enough for everyday use. Most styles come in a range of colours from classic neutrals through to more decorative tones if you want your stool to stand out.

Ottoman storage stool FAQs

How much weight can an ottoman storage stool hold?

Most of our ottoman storage stools are designed to be sat on and will comfortably support an adult's weight. Weight limits vary by product and are listed on the individual product page. It's worth checking if you plan to use yours primarily as a seat rather than just a place to put your feet up.

What is the difference between an ottoman stool and an ottoman bench?

Size, primarily. An ottoman stool is compact and designed for one person — as a footrest, bedside seat, or small coffee-table alternative. An ottoman storage bench is longer, seats more than one person and tends to have more storage capacity inside. Benches work well at the foot of a bed or in a hallway; stools suit smaller spaces and unused corners.

Are ottoman storage stools easy to assemble?

Most of our storage stools arrive largely assembled or require minimal setup, typically just attaching the legs. Full assembly details and estimated times are listed on each product page.

How do I clean a fabric ottoman stool?

Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent for most fabric finishes. Some covers are removable and machine washable, but always check the care label on the individual product for specific guidance. Faux leather styles can generally be wiped clean with a damp cloth, making them a good choice for family rooms or anywhere spills are likely.
