Does permeable paving work in cold climates?

It’s excellent in cold climates, as it allows water to drain which minimises the chance of ice forming, unlike paving slabs which can be downright terrifying in sub-zero temperatures.

How do I maintain my paving?

It’s as easy as checking it over every now and again. If you’ve filled yours with rocks or pebbles, it’s inevitable that you’ll need to top them up after a while. If you’ve planted grass, keep it trim with a lawn mower and top it up with lawn feed in early spring.
