Water Butt Treatment from Defenders is a safe, non-toxic treatment to clean domestic water butts that collect rain and household water (baths, washing machines, sinks, etc.) It uses natural technology and is safe to use in all garden situations. It treats up to 6500 litres of rainwater and household water, eliminating unpleasant smells. Following treatment it prevents green water and soap scum, keeping stored water free from algae and slime. This treated water is safe for watering garden plants, flowerbeds, and lawns. To treat rainwater in a standard 100 litres household water butt, dilute 25ml (three capfuls) in a clean watering can and then pour into the water butt; add a further 25ml weekly between March and October, fortnightly between November and February.
