Our chalky furniture paint has been specially developed to give a classical, yet durable matt finish to interior wood, melamine and mdf furniture all around the home. This 750ml tin covers 9 square metres which after one coat, is about the same area as five standard doors. Before Painting: The surfaces you're planning to paint must be clean, dry, free from grease, wax, dust and other contamination. To ensure good adhesion ensure that any mould or fungal growth is treater prior to application. On melamine, bare wood or mdf, the surface should be primed Wiilko furniture and cupboard primer to ensure good ahesion. Previously stained wood should be primed with Wilko stain blocker primer. Previously painted/stained surfaces should be rubbed down with a fine abrasive paper to provide good adhesion for the paint. Avoud the inhalation of dust - always wear a suitable facemask if sanding surfaces and open all your windows. Special preacautions should be taken during preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces as they may contain harmful lead. Painting: Stir well before use. Apply with brush or foam roller to achieve a smooth finish. Do not overload the surface as this may result in the paint sagging. When a large change in colour is required a second coat may be required. Under normal conditions, touch dry in approximately 1 hour, a second coat may be applied after 4 hours. Finish with Wilko chalky furniture paint protective lacquer if required. Allow 2 days for the finished puece to filly harden, being careful not to damage the paint film during this time. Allow longer in cool or damp conditions. Replace lid firmly after use. Store paint in a cool, dry place away from extremes of temperature. After Painting: Replace lid firmly after use. Remove as mich product as possible from application equipment before cleaning. Clean all your decorating equipment immediately after use with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Then pop the kettle on, sit back and enjoy all your hard work! Dont Forget: PROTECT FROM FROST. To avoid the risk of spillage, always store and transport in a secure upright position. Do not empty product into drains or watercourses. Some local authorities have special facilityies for the disposal of waste coating. Do not use empty container for storing food. Please note: This product is not suitable for use on kitchen worktops, flooring or formica surfaces.
