Bring on a bake-a-thon
Autumn is the perfect time to start getting busy in the kitchen, and everyone loves having some freshly baked goods around. Whether you want to make treats for the kids, tasty bakes to share with friends and family, or get the Christmas cake started, we've got everything you need for a cosy autumn bake-a-thon!
Baking with the kids
Kids love to get involved in whatever mum or dad is up to around the home, especially in the kitchen! Baking at home is a great place for sparking their creativity and they can learn so much from simple cooking tasks and easy-to-follow recipes. We think it's also a great opportunity for them to learn new skills and enjoy their own creations.
So, whether it’s making savoury snacks or sweet treats, get the kids baking and there’ll (hopefully) be something delicious to eat by the end of it too. Just be prepared that you might see more mix on the floor than in the bowl!
Baking essentials
We think it's a good idea to stock up on these essentials to get the best from your bake-a-thon and perfect all those yummy signature bakes:
- Cookie cutters in a selection of shapes and sizes
- Muffin cases - perfect for your cupcakes and muffins
- Spatula - to get all the cake mix out of the bowl
- Rolling pin to create the perfect pastry
- Wooden spoon - a must-have for mixing cake batter
- Non-stick bakeware in a selection of shapes and sizes
- Mixing bowl - two different sizes come in handy
- Kitchen scales - a must have for successful bakes
Store in style
Last but by no means least, you’ll need some baking storage for those beautiful cakes, biscuits and bakes to keep them fresh and tasting great for longer.
From cake tins in a variety of beautiful designs, to clip-lid tupperware in various sizes to hold muffins and cookies, your baking storage can be stylish too!
