Add a pop of colour to your outdoors with our Agapanthus Poppin Purple Plant Pots. The Agapanthus or African Lily is a spectacular perennial that will evoke an exotic feel in your garden. This Poppin’ Purple plant is a reblooming variety perfect to brighten up any dull space. Most Agapanthus flower for just a couple of months in summer, however, this superstar will bloom continuously from June to September. The flowers are truly something special, with buds that are such a dark purple that they could be called black, exploding into incredibly intense violet flowers. Their semi-evergreen leaves are long, slender and strap-like, growing in low, arching clumps which allow the flowers to stand out above them on their long, straight and strong stems. This characteristic makes them ideal for cutting and creating bold floral arrangements. These plants will grow happily in the ground but are very well suited to container growing, and having their roots restricted can often result in more flowers. Moreover, growing them in pots makes winter protection much easier. Like all, this variety loves rich, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, and it tolerates drought well. Despite being winter hardy, some protection will be needed during the coldest winters. It is recommended to provide a thick mulch in autumn to protect the plants against the hardest frosts or bring container-grown plants under cover. These plants are supplied as two established plants in 9cm pots. Please note: The height of the delivered plants will vary with the time of year and therefore 'as supplied' images are an indication only. All heights given include the height of the growing container.
