Make a special place for nature and wildlife in your home-garden with these tall and elegant plants covered in white or pinkish purple flowers. Johnsons Seeds Wild Flower Teasel will set your garden buzzing as teasels provides pollen and nectar for insects. The stem clasping leaves collect crucial pools of drinking water and the seed heads are an important food resource to birds in winter. Indoor sowing: January to April, in trays of seed compost. Sow thinly then cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. If germination is erratic place in a refrigerator for 2-3 weeks, then return to the warmth. Repeat sow annually for flowers in successive years. When large enough to handle transplant to individual 7.5cm pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions. Transplant 45cm apart in September to October. Flowers July to September, the following year. TIP: Do not deadhead, allow birds to feed on the seed heads in autumn. NOTE: Native grown wildflower seeds, not taken from the wild
