How to Plant Nasturtium Seeds

Planting nasturtium seeds couldn’t be simpler. Surprisingly, they tend to do quite well in soil which isn’t great, so you don’t need to worry too much about preparing the soil. Plant the seeds a couple of centimetres deep, and remember to space them out – nasturtiums are prolific, sprawling plants, so they’ll need plenty of room to spread out. Keep the soil moist until the plant is established, then keep them on the drier side. Nasturtiums love sun (not many flowers don’t), and will put out plenty of flowers if they get ample sunlight. Remove any spent flowers to encourage further blooms, and don’t be tempted to use plant fertiliser, as you may end up with loads of leaves and not many flowers.
