What is the best colour to paint an outdoor fence?

Start off by opting for natural wood colours and neutral paint shades like grey and brown. If you're feeling adventurous, consider adding a pop of vibrance with deep blue or green. Or, for a more modern twist, try experimenting with bright white, dark grey, or black!

When should you not paint a fence?

We don’t recommend painting when it’s about to rain or when it's raining. Also, avoid painting when temperatures are lower than the freezing point. Freshly painted fences often freeze, compromising the painting process.

Is it better to paint a fence with a brush or roller? It depends on the fence's size and style. A paint brush is good for tight spaces and corners, while a roller covers larger areas quickly. You can combine both or choose what feels more efficient and comfortable.

Can you paint over old fence paint?

If you're painting over old fence paint, start by scraping off any loose paint. Applying multiple coats will give you a smoother finish when transitioning from a darker to a lighter colour. If any mould is present, thoroughly wash the fence and allow it to dry completely before applying a fresh coat of paint.

Can I paint my side of the neighbour's fence?

You can, as long as you get their permission. You don’t want the paint seeping through cracks, leaving ugly marks on their side. First, agree with the neighbour and only use high-quality fence paint.
